Happy New Year!

Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.

IIM Indore

so guys.. yet another new year has come to an end! what are you going to miss the most about this year? and me?? well .. mostly i am gonna miss my stay at IIM Indore. the evening breeze, the sun set point, the care free life, visits to Alcove.. ahhh! memories forever!

so what about tonight's plan? have fun.. go mad once the gong hits 12.. party till the wee hours of the morning.. BUT ...BUT.. what ever you do.. please don't 'Drink N Drive!'

so what are the resolutions this year? by the way generally I agree with F.M. Knowles:

"He who breaks a resolution is a weakling. He who makes one is a fool"

so i an no fool, and have no resolution.. except for this one : "I will not bore my husband by giving same excuses for not doing laundry over and over again" (and yes i find it funny so I keep quoting it every where)

so in the end i wold just pray that may this new year bring in lots of surprises for you... and good ones.. for me it will surely be full of lots of surprises.. but how pleasant . lets see:)

SHOE THAT BITES!

So ladies... as it must have happened to u too, so u must be know how sad it is to realize that your favourite pair of shoe that you bought and kept in the box for a long time, to wear on a special occasion, 'Bitesss'!:(

Happened to me few days ago.. got these awesome pair of shoes from Delhi, and since they are transparent I just could not bring my self to spoil them by wearing them, and also i could not find the perfect nail paint that would go with it. so they were there in the box for a long time before i got a perfect occasion, perfect dress and a perfect colour nail paint to go with  them.

But alas! they BITE!

We were out celebrating Anshul's placement and i just could not bear them for more than an hour, though the good news is Anshul let me buy new ones on the spot :), but still I loved those wallas :(

so it got me thinking what to do when a shoe bites. Here is what I came across:
  • 1st and foremost thing to do is to take them back to where you bought them and exchange them for a pair that fit properly.
  • You can also apply Band-Aid to the affected area.
  • This was new to me : try scraping a candle to the part of the shoe that bites.
  • Try applying Vaseline.
  • Can also take it to the shoe best-man- cobbler. 99% times he ll fix it for you.
  • and still if none of the above works do it the traditional Chinese way - Bite your shoe before it bites you! after all no shoe is beautiful enough, to spoil your tender skin.

TO SIR... WITH LOVE

Wrote this story ages back... stumbled upon it recently.. thanks to a friend.

A little girl loved her drawing classes as much as she loved her drawing teacher. She had 100% attendance in the subject. One fine day the drawing teacher asked all the girls to draw the picture of their prince charming. The little girl drew too. She drew a handsome lad with a rose in his hand. But since the little girl was little, she coloured the rose blue instead of red, pink, yellow or any other usual colour. When the arts master saw it, he didn’t comment on it. Instead he gave a beautiful smile the one that the little girl cherished.
Encouraging her he said, “So little girl, one day a prince charming would come to you with a blue rose in his hand and he will be your groom.”
The little girl just blushed and started waiting for him. Then the little girl grew up and now was a young girl. But for her arts teacher, she was still a little girl.
On her 18th birthday, she was waiting for her drawing master to come and bless her but instead came the news of his death in an accident. The little girl went to his funeral where she was given a folded paper, which her master had left on his deathbed for her. She opened it. It was her drawing of prince charming with the blue rose and at the back was written….

To little girl,

I know you are waiting for a prince charming with a blue rose in his hand. When you were young, I said that he will come, because I thought when you would grow up you would know that there is no blue rose. But it seems that my little girl is still a little girl. So grow up little girl and find a handsome groom for yourself.

Take care.
Your teacher.

This made the little girl; more sad. A part of her told her to do as her drawing teacher had told her yet another part did not allow her to leave her hope. Years went on. Now the little girl is 26. She is at her teacher’s grave with a letter in her hand, which she is hoping her teacher would read where ever he is……..

To Sir,

I miss you, sir. I have found my prince charming. He did come up with a blue rose at last. He is a handsome lad with blue eyes and rose as his middle name. Tomorrow we are getting married. Bless me sir…

with love,
your little girl

Just Like That!

He was rich, she was pretty. She loved him, he loved money. He showered her with jewellery, all she wanted were flowers. On all their dates, he was always late. He was a busy man, she a lonely woman. It was their 3rd love anniversary. Yet again she was waiting for him with wine, candle light dinner and a tear in her eye. When he finally showed up, he was looking at his best. She smiled, he smiled back. She stood up, but he bent down. …on knees, and out came a small jewellery box. Not again, was her reaction.
‘’ enough of jewellery, I don’t want any of it any more, when will you learn I love flowers’’.
He smiled and said “I was saving it for later but then if that’s what u want my love, here are the flowers”, and whoosh! Came in lots of bouquets with flowers of all the available varieties, soon the room was full of flowers. She was astonished.
“You knew? Than why not until now?
Hugging her he said “because I never wanted you to hurt yourself with thorns. All these flowers are handpicked and thorns have been remover form each one of them that is what took me so long today”.
“But why today??”
“Because I wanted to do this”
He again stood on his knees, took out the box with the engagement ring and asked her
“will you marry me?”
He was her perfect man now… how she say no.

Could you???

Bucket full of 'Bucketlist"

John Lennon said- 'Life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans'.

and before you know, time flies. All those things that you swore you will do some day before u die,'Bucketlist' is where you keep track on them all. I always confused it with the word 'Wishlist'. But it seems bucket-list is the actual word.

All of us make it and lose it. When i fell seriously ill in last few months, i realized life is so unpredictable and luck jostles up all our plans, so why not pamper ourselves when it is busy messing up some one else's life?

so i will just jot down the bucketlist of my own, hope you will do it too! and if u do, please share it, i might just get an earge to add few things to my list too.

MY BUCKETLIST:
# Have a butterfly tattoo on my nape or ankle.
# See Eiffel Tower, Disney Land, Opera house (Australia), Leaning Tower of Pisa, Pyramids of Egypt.
# Go on a camping trip to an African Safari.
# Float on dead sea.
# Spend a night at a tree house, on a open beach, in a boat house and "The Taj" (Maldives)
# Learn tarot  cards and reiki.
# watch a movie at open theater in car with Anshul
# learn to play Guiter
# Write a book
# Take a trip to any where with just my girl friends.
# Have a pet Rabbit and Love fish.
# Have a room of my dream.

This is me for time being...Ralph Waldo Emerson once said
"All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better".

"Writing a Blog"

So finally here i am... writing a blog! one warning before i start, u will find lodz n lodz of spelling mistakes in all my blogs, some intentional and some unintentional. yes that's the thing about me, i am careless and my spellings are my weakness. once my school's maths teacher told me its a result of my mind working faster than my hand... how sweet of her.. but the truth... well who knows it better than me??

well coming down to writing the blog... its like a long time wish come true. i always wanted to write and fortunately i always have people around to encourage me. Shruti, in school, she always read my hate mails, my stupid poetry,my kid like stories and told me that i could be a writer one day. (the seeds of the idea for me doing mass comm probably came from there), than there was Arman Ma'am, ahhh!one of my favorite teachers, reason why i never lost interest in literature. thanks to her i won so many elocution. Than there was Jaesu (Jaspreet Virk), Priya,Vandna  and Supu in Mass Comm, who laughed at my face but at the same time supported me, when out of the blue i announced that 'one day i will write a book'. "JE BAAT!"was a delayed reaction. special mention for Archana ma'am, my print media teacher, for so many provoking lectures that could make any one feel that one can be greatest writer in the world,  if one wishes to, and me being the dreamer already was probably most affected. then Pooanm Agrawal here at IIM Indore, thinks i am too creative when it comes to cooking up stories or writing up captions (both of us are Facebook contest addictive, but more on that some other time.) Anshul well of course he knows i love writing, and says will support me in what ever way i want him to. (rite now he is being supportive by studying on his desk as quietly as possible ;)) than recently Nikita Vasalraj , an upcoming entrepreneur and owner of Ektaara (http://www.facebook.com/ektaara2107), had a story writing contest run on her Facebook   page, and Alas!! i won. Supriya Sharma ,Anupriya and shruti asked me to share the story with them and they liked it too. (aaaillla mai toh fir channe ki jhad pe!) and boom! came back the writing worm.

finally and most importantly Astha Mehta comes into picture, and tells me to start my own blog...she even helped me through the process of making one (and imagine at 3'o clock at night). ya ya i have been thinking bout it since long but never came down to doing it. but than i thought why not? time is right, place is right. i have lots of time and i am living at a place that houses the top 1% intelligent population of India.

so here i am finally finishing my 1st blog...
Dont know if i will write a novel some day or not. But some day, after i die, may be some one will be able to fish out just enough number of good blogs to publish a book. :P(no harm in wish full thinking!)

any ways... it was a tribute to every one who ever helped me, encouraged me to write, hope i will come up to your expectation some day.

shining off (yes that was intentional)
