Being a Mommy!!

Yes.. I am going to be a mommy soon :)

It all happened on 25th October. We were all set to fly to Chandigarh for my parent's house warming ceremony and my cousin's wedding. It was 29th day from my last period (so ideally not a case of delayed period, but since my cycle usually never goes beyond 26 days so i decided to take home pregnancy test.) The taxi for airport was due to arrive at 6:00 am, I read result- "THE POSITIVE" result at around 5:30 am. I had to check and recheck the instructions, because I just could not believe what I saw.

Anshul who was in loo at that time, came out around 5:40 and made an angry face when he saw me still in my night clothes. But the moment I made the announcement that he is going to be a dad, he hugged me in a long, affectionate and best hug ever. After that we came to senses only when taxi waalla called to tell that he was already downstairs, waiting for us. It took us another 10 min to get ready and rush down with so much of excitement in our hearts.

BABY INSIDE-

Hearing the Heart Beat: 

At 6 weeks I had my 1st ultrasound, and for the 1st time saw my baby. though it was smaller than a little peanut, but "MY" peanut had a heart beat of his/her own. It was the most mesmerizing and overwhelming moment of my life.

Fast forward week 12:

The nausea has set in. the evenings are terrible. did not have morning sickness, but nausea worsens as the day progresses.

Had the 2nd ultrasound and we could hear the baby's heart beat very clearly now. It went lupduplupduplupdup at 164 beats per min. Both me and Anshul just could not have enough of it. The ultrasound was basically to check the baby for down syndrome, nasal bone and some other stuff. Gladly every thing seems fine with our baby.

End of 1st Trimester:

On 26th December'13, my 1st trimester came to an end and I was hoping to get some relief from nausea, so that i can get on with eating healthy food for the baby. But instead in addition to nausea I started having sever frequent head aches.

2nd February'14:

Though I have been suspecting the few flickers in my stomach are actually baby movements, but I did actually feel a bigggg flutter today. it felt ticklish, sweet and baby felt more real then ever.  

Week 20th Anomaly Scan:

so the baby has started taking the shape. Though the baby still looks like and alien, but the features can be made out easily. We saw the baby in 3D/4D scan and baby also treated us with a visual of sucking his/her thumb. yes, the baby was indeed sucking the thumb it was the cutest thing ever. 

the scan was to rule out and kind of deformity or anomaly in the baby. and all seemed fine with mine :)

End of 2nd Trimester:  

on 26th March'14 my 2nd trimester ended. I am currently in my 27th week the baby is about 14 inches and little more than 1kg. though I have gained 9kgs :)

I feel more energetic and excited. I have started window shopping a lot and have also joined ante natal classes.

Hail to our happy school days


Be careful what you wish for...for  your wish might just come true!

Remember how in school we begged God everyday to end the ordeal of giving exams and doing home work. Than why years after leaving the school I constantly find myself wishing to go back to school life. Why do I try to relive those moments by looking at old pictures and meeting school friends occasionally? Aahhh the memory of that first crush, the smell of those new notebooks and stationary and the horrifying realization just before the class that homework is not complete - Irreplaceable!!

Never before I thought of any one of my school memories as a special one.. but since Shopo.in asked, it got me thinking. This incidence happened when i was in class 8th ... and it was one moment that not only   is imprinted in my mind, but also taught me to be humble no matter what.

It was recess, and naturally the chaos . With the kids running around, no one really cared when teachers commanded  junior year kids to tie their shoe laces. This particular kid, who almost fell down twice,  attempted to tie his laces, but probably he did not know how to. So when he almost fell again the third time, our principal sir came, bent down and not only tied his laces, but also taught him how to.

It was so inspiring to see that when all the others just stood there and watched, the highest authority of the school came himself to help that poor kid. He could have commanded any one to do it, but he chose to do it himself. That was his love for us kids. Guess we were those few lucky ones who could proudly say, we love our princi.


I was touched, and till date I cant wipe that memory out of my mind. After all only the powerful memories leave an everlasting impression on a young mind.

so guys.. yet another new year has come to an end! what are you going to miss the most about this year? and me?? well .. mostly i am gonna miss my stay at IIM Indore. the evening breeze, the sun set point, the care free life, visits to Alcove.. ahhh! memories forever!

so what about tonight's plan? have fun.. go mad once the gong hits 12.. party till the wee hours of the morning.. BUT ...BUT.. what ever you do.. please don't 'Drink N Drive!'






so what are the resolutions this year? by the way generally I agree with F.M. Knowles:


"He who breaks a resolution is a weakling. He who makes one is a fool"

 so i an no fool, and have no resolution.. except for this one : "I will not bore my husband by giving same excuses for not doing laundry over and over again" (and yes i find it funny so I keep quoting it every where)

so in the end i wold just pray that may this new year bring in lots of surprises for you... and good ones.. for me it will surely be full of lots of surprises.. but how pleasant . lets see:)

SHOE THAT BITES!

So ladies... as it must have happened to u too, so u must be know how sad it is to realize that your favourite pair of shoe that you bought and kept in the box for a long time, to wear on a special occasion, 'Bitesss'!:(

Happened to me few days ago.. got these awesome pair of shoes from Delhi, and since they are transparent I just could not bring my self to spoil them by wearing them, and also i could not find the perfect nail paint that would go with it. so they were there in the box for a long time before i got a perfect occasion, perfect dress and a perfect colour nail paint to go with  them.

But alas! they BITE!

We were out celebrating Anshul's placement and i just could not bear them for more than an hour, though the good news is Anshul let me buy new ones on the spot :), but still I loved those wallas :(

so it got me thinking what to do when a shoe bites. Here is what I came across:

• 1st and foremost thing to do is to take them back to where you bought them and exchange them for a pair that fit properly.
• You can also apply Band-Aid to the affected area.
• This was new to me : try scraping a candle to the part of the shoe that bites. 
• Try applying Vaseline.
• Can also take it to the shoe best-man- cobbler. 99% times he ll fix it for you.
• and still if none of the above works do it the traditional Chinese way - Bite your shoe before it bites you! after all no shoe is beautiful enough, to spoil your tender skin.
